Illegal logging cuts down birds by 50%

According to the recent study, Illegal logging for lumber destroys the habitat of birds which decreased by fifty percent in the forests of Ghana.

Researchers found that the rate of legal and illegal logging reached to over six hundred percent between the year 1995 and 2010 which is six times bigger than the great sustainable level. The species of birds are very much affected which already decreased in number. The habitat of birds didn’t have a significant improvement after the illegal logging operations.

Tropical forests are place to many of the earthly variety of life or ecosystem compared to any other natural environment of plants, animals or organisms but these forests are already in danger because of the illegal logging. However, its influence on tropical forests has not been measured yet.

Based on the reports, about fifty to ninety percent of lumber were taken in many tropical areas which had a major impact in destroying the forest in the world. In Ghana, almost eighty percent of lumber were taken which is illegal.

For this reason that the rate of illegal logging reported in Ghana are normal of many tropical growing countries, the researchers think that these movements are also existing in tropical forest of other countries and should be given enough attention.
